Come Play Football With Us

Do You Love Football?

More than a club.
Play with purpose.

"If you need some good news, this one is for you.
It's a piece I did about the Melrose Park Under 13s soccer club. A team made up almost exclusively of young Afghan refugees who were forced to flee the country when the Taliban took over. Many have lost one parent or both then.
The club has given them some grounding in Australia and purpose after a traumatic few years. Their coach, Zarar, is an inspiration who was recently awarded a human rights award for his work with the boys."

MPFC congratulates all the winners of the 2024 NSW Humanitarian Awards, with a special shoutout to our very own Ahmad Zarar! He is the winner of the 2024 NSW Humanitarian Sports Awards.

Our dear Junior's coach volunteer and player, Ahmad Zarar, has been a phenomenal cornerstone to the club and an inspiration to the under-13s team. His commitment and passion have made a significant impact on everyone around him.

We are incredibly proud of Zarar and all the other honourees for their remarkable efforts!

The 2024 NSW Humanitarian Awards organised by STARTTS and the Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) were presented on 1st July 2024 to recognise individuals and organisations making exceptional contributions to the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in NSW. Our incredible president, Julie Crane, was nominated by the esteemed Melrose Park Football Club committee for the City of Parramatta Citizen of The Year Awards!

The best part? It was a total surprise for Julie, and we couldn't be prouder as they called her name to receive the award on stage. SHE WON!

Let's give her a massive congratulations for this well-deserved achievement.
